To discover the magic of our New York weddings, you have to take a journey into the past. When the first of many weddings at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown Hotel was celebrated on June 14, 2016, it ushered in a wonderful new era for the former Hotel Syracuse.

Still one of the most historic wedding venues in Central NY,  the Hotel Syracuse originally opened its doors in 1924 and quickly became known for hosting the grandest of events in its lavish ballrooms. For quite some time, the hotel continued to top the list of elegant wedding venues in Central New York and was much sought after by the elite and the extravagant. As it aged, the charm started to wane, and this former downtown, historic beauty needed some care.

It took a dedicated, fourth-generation Syracuse native to bring the “Grand Lady” back, so that she could once again take pride of place in his beloved city. It was a labor of love and took many years to renovate, refurbish and reimagine – original features were replicated and even more ornate details were added. Majestic chandeliers were carefully gilded and floor-to-ceiling windows cast beautiful natural light on the elegant furnishings throughout, returning the rooms to their former grandeur.

Now, we are thrilled to say that our Certified Wedding Specialists have ensured that our historic hotel is, once again, a favorite venue for New York weddings. With their attention to detail and our elegant spaces, we’re waiting to add your ‘happily ever after’ to our own historic tale!
