Tips for Planning a Winter Wonderland Wedding in New York

Tips for Planning a Winter Wonderland Wedding in New York.

Looking for professional and creative tips for planning a winter wonderland wedding in New York? In this week’s post, we’re rounding up our favorite tips and tricks to make winter wedding planning as seamless as possible for you. Check out our best tips for planning a winter wonderland wedding in New York and relieve a bit of the stress you might be feeling.

When it comes to planning a winter wedding in New York, know that timing is key. Finding vendors during the peak season may be a bit of a challenge. In addition, your out-of-town guests may encounter a bit of trouble during their travels. Keep in mind that, while the holiday season is a joyful time, there are many events and festivals that may be taking place at the time of your wedding. Our tip for planning a winter wedding in New York is to plan ahead. Book your vendors as soon as possible to avoid any unnecessary headaches.

While we love how romantic winter weddings are at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown, especially while the snowflakes are falling, be prepared for the possibility of cold, blustery winds and inclement weather. You may want to consider purchasing cozy blankets or pashminas for your guests and bridal party to warm up during the ceremony and reception. Consider putting down mats to help catch tracked-in snow and make sure there are plenty of coat racks for jackets and coats.

Consider that some guests may not be able to attend. When planning a winter wedding, you run the risk of a few people on your list declining your invitation. Winter is the time when many plan vacations or have other social obligations on their calendar. Furthermore, elderly or disabled family members may be too worried about the weather conditions. It is also an expensive time to travel, meaning some out-of-town guests may not be able to afford to attend.

Be sure to pick seasonal flowers. Flower prices may skyrocket since there are many flowers that are not in season during the winter. Keep this in mind early on in your planning so you can think of wedding bouquet alternatives in the beginning stages.
