The latest historic Syracuse hotel restoration updates.
We are getting closer and closer to the official opening of our historic Syracuse hotel and everything is coming together so quickly! Here is a recap of some of the latest restoration updates for the Marriott Syracuse Downtown, formerly Hotel Syracuse.
Let there be (Chandelier) light!
Several months ago we bid a fond farewell to a number of chandeliers for restoration. This 6 month process was handled by Grand Light, a lighting restoration company in Seymour, Connecticut. “They’re functional pieces of art that were created for the hotel,” said Ryan Stockman, vice president of Grand Light. “They’re historical. The craftsmanship is unbelievable.” This week, the team from Associated Industrial Riggers, of East Syracuse meticulously installed the stunning Lobby chandeliers to light the way in our grand entrance.
Brush stroke by brush stroke. Marek Mularski of Auburn Massachusetts has been ever so carefully restoring the 40 foot mural that graces a wall in the Lobby. Over the last several weeks, Mr. Mularksi has been working to remove years of tobacco smoke and dust and when completed, the mural will be exactly the same as when it was originally painted 67 years ago.
The opening of the Marriott Syracuse Downtown is much anticipated throughout the area and we can’t wait to showcase our modern amenities coupled with the beauty of the restoration of our historic Syracuse hotel. Continue to follow us on our Blog, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
